Grand Finale from MAFIA

Finally, the PRE-REVELS journey ended in the most spectacular way with the GRAND FINALE of ARIA ( eastern vocals) and FINESSE (eastern and western dance) events organised by the MUSIC AND FINE ARTS CLUB ( M.A.F.I.A ), today, at the quadrangle.

The evening started of with ARIA, wherein the singers actually ‘redefined’ melody. They proved that even in this era of psychedelic trance and hip hop, Indian music has the upper cut and is indeed evergreen, that ragas’, classical beats and MEANINGFUL lyrics still have their own prestige and uniqueness. Personally i feel that everyone at the quadrangle must have become nostalgic on listening to the music.

The next event FINESSE, started off soon after ARIA got over. The stage was taken over by dancers in colorful dresses, various props and glittering masks! FINESSE started off with eastern dance in which there were some stunning performances including garba dances and the most popular SHEILA KI JAWANI. Needless to say, the support from the crowd was at its peak with continuous whistles and shouts! The next part of the event was the western dance. The Michael Jacksons and Shakiras of our college all practicing their moves and expressions backstage just before their performance, and also carried the same talent and momentum on the stage and put up a brilliant show. Apart from the break dance and b-boying, the western dance included an outstanding robotic dance followed by an even more mesmerizing belly dance! It was truly a breathtaking show.

Now comes the most difficult part, judging. After almost half an hour of ‘scrutinizing’ the marksheet they had prepared, 2 finalists and 3 standby’s from each event were selected to perform in the REVELS ’11!

Again, the MIGHTY MAFIA showed its gravity of importance in the REVELS!
